G suite (formerly known as Google Apps for Work) is Google’s flagship SaaS (Software as a Service, basically a suite of cloud apps and services available through a browser in a subscription based model), and the direct competitor to Microsoft 365, at least in the enterprise productivity and collaboration space.
It includes about 20 products and services (all plans combined), but depending on what subscription you have, you might get only a few of those.
So, What does G Suite include exactly? and what subscription plans is each app or service available for?
Here’s the complete list of apps and services included in Google’s G suite:
Gmail

Google Chat
Google Chat provides secure 1:1 direct messages as well as group conversations, and allows for fluid team & business collaboration efficiently from anywhere, with shared chat, files and tasks.
Google Chat is meant to replace Google Hangouts, with seamless migration Hangouts customers. Google Chat offers an easy integration with both Google (powerful search through emails and chat conversations) and third-party apps (Salesforce, Jira…etc), in addition to support for task automation through smart bots.

Calendar

Drive

Docs
Google Docs offers simple online word processing for teams and businesses, right in the browser with offline support and robust real-time commenting, chat and collaboration / editing right in your documents, as well as unlimited revision history archiving.
Google docs allows you to import your documents to make them instantly editable, including Microsoft Word and PDF files. Once you are done you can export your work in .docx, .pdf, .odt, .rtf, .txt or .html format.

Forms
Google Forms is an online surveys builder, that allows the creation of custom forms for surveys and questionnaires, and the gathering and data analysis of results / responses in a spreadsheet right in Google Sheets with automatic summaries and everything.
The forms can be private to your team / organization, or shared publicly in an email, or a website or through a shared link. the forms support different types of data validation, and can handle up to 2 million data cells of responses.

Sites
Google Sites is an online website builder, that allows you to collaborate on the effortless creation and publishing of responsive websites without design skills or programming experience, through simple drag & drop interfaces.

Google currents (formerly known as Google+ for G Suite) is an internal enterprise social network for teams and businesses to facilitate the exchange of ideas and engage employees in meaningful conversations throughout the organization.

Keep
Google Keep is an online tool to organize your notes and lists across all your devices, which allows you to capture inspiration and to-dos lists, and to collaborate on notes with teammates and coworkers while setting reminders (time based reminders as well as location based ones) to stay on track.

Classrooms
Google Classrooms is a web service developed for schools that aim to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments. Its primary purposes are to streamline the process of sharing files between teachers and students, organize student work, boost collaboration, and foster better communication.
Available for: only G Suite for Education & G Suite Enterprise for Education.
Assignments
Google Assignments is an application for your learning management system (LMS), that gives educators a faster, simpler way to distribute, analyze, and grade student work.
Basically it gives educational institutions the same features of Google Classroom, but without having to use Google Classroom, they just integrate Google Assignments to their already existing LMS solution, and voilĂ !
Available for: only G Suite for Education & G Suite Enterprise for Education.
Apps Script
Google Apps Script is the only low-code platform that allows you to build business solutions that integrate, automate, and extend G Suite.

Google Admin offers centralized security and administration controls for G Suite. It allows you to manage users & devices, and to configure your organization’s security and privacy settings so your data stays safe.
Google Admin uses integrated Cloud Identity features to manage users and set up security options like 2-step verification and security keys. And it leverages the Security Center for security analysis & insights, and recommended best practices.
And you can use the G Suite Marketplace to find hundreds of 3rd party integrated solutions like CRM, project management, compliance, and more.

Endpoint
Google Endpoint offers easy management of your organization’s devices whether they are on Android, iOS, Windows, Chrome OS, MacOS, or Linux.
With the rising use of the BYOD (Bring-Your-Own-Devices) approach to work, agent-less Endpoint management allows you to:
- Remotely and securely implement screen locks and strong passwords
- Erase all confidential data with device wipe or selective account wipe for Android and iOS.
- Block access to specific Windows, Chrome OS, Linux, and MacOS sessions.
- Securing your company in case of stolen / lost devices.

Vault
Google Vault offers data retention and eDiscovery for G Suite, with it you can track, retain, archive, search and export data across some of the apps and services of G suite.
You can set retention rules and holds on data from certain G Suite apps for an entire domain or specific business units. Here’s a list of supported apps in Vault:
Vault also allows you to retrieve valuable information, even from suspended accounts, to gather what your legal team needs and prevent data loss from employee turnover.
You can audit reports as well, to keep track of user activity within Vault. with trails that let you see user searches, content views, exports…etc.
Available for: only G Suite Business and G Suite Enterprise subscription plans.
Work Insights
Google Work Insights provides insights on work patterns across G Suite. It allows to get real-time insights on adoption, work patterns, and team collaboration across different G Suite apps and services.
Please note that:
- Access is restricted to admins who can increase the aggregate view threshold to more than 10 people for their domain. Work Insights does not include the ability to drill down and see any individual’s activities.
- Work Insights allows you to share reports with execs so they can view the overall status of their G Suite deployment on an ongoing basis.
- View progress over time by comparing reports on a month to month basis.
Available for: only the admins of the G Suite Enterprise subscription plan.
Separate Add-ons
In addition to the products above, there are several add-ons available separately for purchase to G suite subscribers:
