Microsoft Dynamics 365 Certifications – The Ultimate Guide

Microsoft has finally revealed their new Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications paths, by adding some new certifications and retiring or setting an expiry date on others.

So, if you wish to get one of the new Dynamics 365 certifications, but you don’t know which one would suit you best, we are here for you to walk you through all the D365 certification paths and their associated exams & exam-prep / training. First, let’s start with the obvious questions:

What are Microsoft Dynamics 365 Certifications?

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Certifications are 12+ official attestations delivered by Microsoft at the end of a paid assessment process, to acknowledge a candidate’s level of skill and proficiency in implementing, developing, administering as well as mastering the functional aspects of Dynamics 365 and its modules (Customer Relations, Finance & Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing…).

Dynamics 365 certifications are organized in 3 levels: Fundamentals, Associate and Expert. The fundamental ones (MB-910 & MB-920) never expire, the associate and expert ones are only valid for a year, but you can renew them for free during the last 6 months of that year by passing the associated exam(s) on Microsoft Learn.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications cost $165USD per each exam in the certification itself, except the fundamental level ones which only cost 99$.

How Do I become Dynamics 365 Certified?

To become certified on Dynamics 365 you need to choose a certification path that corresponds to your role and level of expertise, then you pay the cost & pass the required exams of that certification, Microsoft usually provides free self-led training modules as well as paid trainer-led courses, along with free official practice tests for each of those exams.
